Delaware Fishing Report - February 2019

Delaware Fishing Report - February 2019

Freshwater

While old man winter continues to do his thing, I have been inside preparing for the
upcoming spring trout season. The state of Delaware stocks two ponds down state
before stocking several piedmont stream with rainbow and brown trout.  While waiting
it out, I did have the chance to catch a few catfish from a river tributary to the Chesapeake
bay.  I also caught a few yellow perch when I could find water that was not covered in ice.
There are probably good chances of also catching largemouth bass, chain pickerel, redear
sunfish and crappie in many of the state's spillways and millponds.  You just can't go wrong
with a big fat nightcrawler.  Check out this ebook for more Delaware sport fishing tips and

Saltwater

Not much news coming from the beaches.   I stopped into the Delaware Shipwreck Museum
in Fenwick and heard some great stories about treasure, not to mention noticing the large
Bull Shark hanging from the ceiling.  I also visited a tackle shop to ask if anyone had been
catching anything on the beach, but the response was "No."  Warmer days are ahead and
I lookforward to those nice summer evenings loading the cooler with Kingfish and Blues.

Til then, tight lines!
